Copic and Prismacolor Flowers in Vases

Swap topic: Basket or Vase of Flowers

This was an oversized stamp so I cut it down with a Nestabilities Label die. Most of the flowers were colored with Copic markers, but I also used something new. I purchased some Prismacolor Premier pens with brush tips. They came in a multi-color pack. These brush tips have a very fine point and they can get into the smallest places.

I airbrushed some pale porcelain blue around the edge before I took it out of the die. Then I colored the rest of the image. The yellow background near the vases and flowers was added after the flowers were colored.

January Sketch Card

I am trying to get back into the swing, or should I say "stamp" of things. This is the first monthly sketch card. Although there is only one stamped image on this card and that is the sentiment! Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with them and the other swaps I am involved in.

The first picture is of the card in the closed position and the second one is open so you can see the sentiment. I think I was able to capture the glimmer mist on the flowers and the sentiment frame.

And I felt I needed to put a cute little bird on the envelope too.

What have you been working on lately?

Doodles...Black Ink on White Paper

Want to quiet your mind and be in another world? Doodling like this has been a part of my life for about a year now. I can sit down for hours with the TV on my hubby's favorite programs and just create. I try to find new textures to put onto paper. Sometimes you can get inspiration from your clothing, a magazine picture, nature or what ever! Just look at things a little differently and you can copy a pattern. Pretty soon you'll just place the lines and dots and squiggles without thinking about it.

This is a really great way to keep a journal of your thoughts too. I don't really like writing long excerpts of my day in a journal, but I can create something beautiful and put words down on to the page of what I am thinking and feeling.

Try it! You might like it! Enjoy!

Am I hoping for Spring??...Yep, I need some green plants in my life!

The Cricut machine is a wonderful machine. I just wish I had more time to play and create with it!
I inked some edges and made some doodles here and there. Don't you just love the complimentary envelope with the liner??!!

See you soon!

Art Journal Page

I just wanted to create something quickly and it just didn't turn out that way. I spent a fair amount of time on this experiment with paint, pens, ink, and stamps. I finally had to say I was finished because I had other things to do and because you can only remember so many things you've tried on one piece of paper!
I think the best place to make the detailed notes of your experiment is on the back of the page. The note taking takes me back to a class I had in high school called "introductory to physical science". THAT was A LOT of note taking!! Hopefully I'll remember my processes!
Thanks for checking in!

A Simple Thank You

The "Storybook" Cricut cartridge was a Christmas gift, so I thought I'd use it to express the "thank you" on this card. I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create that beautiful pattern on the background.

I had to make quite a few of these, so they had to be simple and very quick!

To Begin....

Inaugurate, initiate, embark on, launch, create, pioneer, originate, set in motion...arise, come into being...
Happy New Year and Happy New Decade to everyone! I used to be a resolution maker at the beginning of every year. Now I am hopeful to be better at certain things that I know need improvement. Actually we can look at everyday as a new beginning. Trying to be better than we were yesterday.

In my life, I am hopeful for new ideas for creativity this year. And I am hopeful for all of your endeavors also.

Now, to get on with an idea for this year: I have had a pile of inspiration pictures thrown into drawers, notebooks, and other places! I want them all to be in one place, so I decided to make an inspiration journal out of a notebook that has just been hanging out in my room. I covered it with some DP and started distressing it. This picture is just the beginning.:

This second picture is one of the items that will get taped down on the pages of this journal. I'll also write notes about each picture and what inspired me about it specifically. I loved the colors of this bedding set and lines and doodle shapes. Isn't it beautiful!!
