Fall Card Swap Week 2

This second week we were to create a card using some kind of a charm. I decided to use a charm that I've had for some time. I also decided to make a set of cards to use up some of those charms and I needed some extra note cards for myself.

Since I was using quotes related to simplicity, I decided to make the cards as simple as possible also. The background of the card was handstamped and I didn't use lots of layers of matting. I think they look simple, but nice. What do you think? I hope Jan likes this one too.

The stamps and the cardstock are from Stampin Up, but the designer paper and the charm is not from Stampin Up.

This last picture uses the same patterned paper and more Stampin Up cardstock. This card would have to be sent with extra postage because the height is probably too tall. On this one I would also add some padding to protect the embellishment on the front so it wouldn't get damaged.

Fall Card Swap Week 1

Hi! There is a new fall card swap that I'm involved in. This first week we are supposed to use lime green and pink on the card. This was really difficult and I wasn't sure I was going to come up with anything! Oops!! I just realized that I didn't give correct credit to the stamp company!! This "art" stamp was made my Hampton Art Stamps. Sorry for the error! Let me know what you think or if you have a favorite! Thanks for looking!

Lime Green and Pink from Jan

My partner for this swap is Jan. She is also a Stampin Up demonstrator and her cards are beautiful! This time I am hoping to have time to show my partner's art work as well as my own. She is very creative! I hope you enjoy it because I sure did! Thanks Jan for sharing your creativity with me!

A Celebration!!

Our family is celebrating a wedding this weekend. Our nephew Matt and his new wife, Natalie are having a reception this Saturday. I decided to make a HUGE card. I say huge because it is an A-9 card which is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded! That is really huge compared to my normal A-2 cards. I have to say though, I really love making big cards! You can fit so much more onto a larger card and things don't feel so crammed up. I love how this turned out and I'm sure they will like it too.
We haven't been back to Colorado for quite a while and are really looking forward to seeing both sides of the family! And yes when you look at the circle under the "M" I erased their last name...for personal reasons. I didn't want you to think I really goofed up or something!!??
Details:
Cardstock: SU Whisper White, Basic Black, and regular red textured cardstock
Ink: Brilliance
Stamps: Stampin Up, Justrite Monogram Stamper
Designer Paper: American Crafts, Elegant Masquerade
Other: SU jewel brads and Spellbinders Nestabilities
Have a great weekend!
NOTE: The background paper is one piece cut from a 12x12 piece of paper and the red cuttlebug embossed paper is one piece also. The band is a single stamp that I used a stamp positioner on to make the band. The inside pattern paper is left over pieces of the front paper. This is important for consistency!

The Love of Riding My Own Motorcycle...

Yep! I love it! My hubby and I love getting out on the open road and cruising! Some days we have a plan and other days we just go where the road takes us. I've been collecting some stamps with the Harley Davidson logo and, of course, I saw a really cute biker girl from Stamping Bella and knew I just had to have her in my collection. Anyway, we have some good friends from Virginia that just moved to Montana and I decided to surprise Perri with a set of note cards. I haven't sent them off just yet because I am waiting on my order from clearbags.com to have a great clear box to show them off!
Perri has a really pretty Fat Boy-green in color-and chromed out to the max! It's a hot bike that she loves to show.

I can't wait to hear from her when she sees these note cards...I know it will bring a smile to her face!
Details:
Stamps: Stamping Bella, EK Success and Justrite
Cardstock: SU W.White, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Additional: COPIC markers!, Brilliance Ink, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and Wild Wasabi ink from SU and ribbon.
This was such a fun project to work on that I couldn't only make a set for Perri, but I had to make one for myself also. I hope you enjoyed my artwork. Thanks for checking in!

Happy Heart

Happy September everyone! We are still enjoying very warm weather, but Gustav is now beginning to come to the mid-US and we're expected to have rain for a couple of days. We could use some rain since it's been very hot and dry.
This card set was made with some left over designer paper that I had in my stash and I forgot to look and see who made it before I cut it all apart! The paper looks like red, purple, peach and pink leaves, but they also could pass as hearts at first glance.
The stamp sets are from Stampin Up and so is the cardstock. I love the Rose Red cardstock that they make. It is such a beautiful color!
Details:
Cardstock: Stampin Up: Rose Red, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Stampin Up: Time Well Spent and Friendship Blooms
Ink: Stampin Up Rose Red and Brilliance Platinum Planet
Other: Gold Gelly Roll metallic pen, Robins Nest Dew Drops, COPIC markers, part of the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug embossing folder, Esentials 4 flowers and self-adhesive gemstones by Paper Studio. I almost forgot: Crystal Effects on the butterfly!!!
Since it is going to be fall very soon, we will probably start seeing new fall cards and great new sketches to try! Thanks for stopping by!
