Art Journal Page

The picture of this art journal page doesn't really show you the depth and the "shiney" stuff like gold ink, glimmer mist, or the sparkly black dots at the corners.

I started this in March and haven't been able to work on it until the last couple of weeks.

I applied gesso, acrylic paint in many layers, stamped images, and paint pens to this page. There are some butterflies in the background that are really hard to see.

Some day I'll get a light box to photograph my work and maybe all those things will show up a little better!

Thank you for checking in today.

Art Journal Page

I just wanted to create something quickly and it just didn't turn out that way. I spent a fair amount of time on this experiment with paint, pens, ink, and stamps. I finally had to say I was finished because I had other things to do and because you can only remember so many things you've tried on one piece of paper!
I think the best place to make the detailed notes of your experiment is on the back of the page. The note taking takes me back to a class I had in high school called "introductory to physical science". THAT was A LOT of note taking!! Hopefully I'll remember my processes!
Thanks for checking in!

Awakening...Through Art Journaling...

This is how this particular art journal page started. I used Tim Holtz Distress ink on the edges, used other ink in the center of the page and used the COPIC airbrush system to create a scalloped masked area on the sides of the page.

This is a great way to experiment with your art process and with supplies. There is no right or wrong way to do this. You can learn a lot about yourself; your likes and dislikes and you can clear your mind of all the clutter!!

Completion of this page felt really good and I used TONS of supplies like: ink, stamps, Graphic 45 paper, old paint pens and stuff like that. What ever was close at hand, I used it somewhere on this page. I found there were supplies that I really liked using and others that I would probably use on some other type of artwork.
You can put what ever your thoughts are at the moment down on the paper and create around that central idea or just ramble on and on.
I really enjoy it and I will probably share more Art Journal pages in the future. Maybe it will spark your creativity!!??
Thanks for checking in.
