It's a Cricut Marathon!

I guess I just had to see how many labels I could make since I've mastered the "end caps" feature on the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge!

I've recently decided to put all of my embellishments into boxes and have them separated by color. That was the best idea I think I've ever had...well almost! (smile) Now I can really see exactly what colors I've got instead of going through every embellishment piece by piece to get to the color that I need.

You'll see I've made the tag color match the color name and added some sort of embellishment on the corners or edges of the tags. This took a long time to cut all the top tags and then do a shadow to match each one. The repetition helped me to set the process in concrete and, of course, I also wrote notes because someday I know I'll forget it all!

When I was done, I was so excited so I decided to show them to my husband. His comment was, gee were you bored??? What?? Bored??? I was having FUN!!! I asked him if he needed any labels made up and he just looked at me really funny! I'm glad I've got my tools!!

I had to share this print out that I made when I was experimenting with the Alphalicious cartridge. I love this one too! Just look at that "g"! Isn't it pretty!! Oh and I also used my Cricut Design studio to weld the letters together! (along with the date) Today, I just got my new Cricut Jukebox and I'm ready to play some more!

This is Angela and Chance's save the date magnet. She carefully placed it in the postcard after cutting the angles. Now everyone can take out the picture magnet of them and place them on their refrigerator so they will be reminded of the wedding date.

Thanks for checking in again!

It's a Cricut Mother's Day Card!

I decided to experiment more with my Cricut Expression machine. I just love the scrapbook layouts I see on-line and in scrapbook stores!

I used the Cricut cartridge called Plantin Schoolbook to make the card base and also the envelope. The tiles and lettering were from the Cricut cartridge called Makin' The Grade. The tiles and lettering are cardstock from Stampin Up and in between each tile is a gemstone from The Paper Studio. Various flowers were layered and then topped off with a Stampin Up gem brad. "Mother's" is double pop-dotted to make it stand up a little more.
I just received the Cricut Design Studio software yesterday, so today I am going to install it on my computer. I can't wait!! I don't think I could sleep another night without getting it all set up and ready to go! I am looking for some blogs that really help you with the tutorials on the software, so if anyone knows of the best tutorial blogs, please email me or leave a comment to share it with me! I'd appreciate it TONS! Thanks for checking in and for all your help!

Elegant Eggplant Bird Card

This turned out to be a really nice card. The images are from Stampin Up (background on card and bird). Each cardstock is also from Stampin Up along with the clear embossing powder. I just love using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. It can make a background look so nice. Don't you think?!!

The edges of the matting have been distressed using Tim Holtz distress ink in milled lavender and tattererd rose. The bird mat was cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then also edged with the distress inks and a black fine point pigment pen. The whole picture was colored with COPIC markers (which Croppinsville is now going to carry!!) The colors are shown in the photo at the bottom. The round marker without a number is a Warm Gray #7.

I think this card could be utilized in a variety of ways: a thinking of you card, a birthday card, a sympathy card or a personalized quote card! I'm sure you could come up with more ideas on the many uses of this little bird.

Birthday Envelope Card

This birthday card base is an envelope. It was covered with scraps of the remaining PaperLoft paper and Prism cardstock from the 12 Card Kit posted a while ago. The vanilla envelope is what it looked like before I tucked the flap in and started covering it with all the paper.
Below is the front of the card envelope with the insert inside.
This picture is the backside of the insert so you can write your personal note to the birthday person.
This is the front of the insert.
Please post a comment and let me know how I could improve it! Constructive criticism is always appreciated!

Seize the Cupcake!!

This is another cute card made by my daughter Angela. We couldn't resist the "cat in bunny slippers" OR the "seize the cupcake" OR the "cupcake" stamp! They all worked so well together we just had to have them! I like her use of color blocks to create visual interest. She did a great job.

3rd of 3 Stampology Bookmarks

Ok! This is it for the bookmarks! I love these big green brads. They are in the bulk bin at Croppinsville and there are tons of colors to choose from. Call Allie anytime and she can give you a description of each color! The other element I liked is the black ribbon that looks like the tail of a kite. She's got that too!

2nd of 3 Stampology Bookmarks

Well here is the next bookmark in the set! These stamps are fantastic little stamps that have TONS of potential! I have cut mine apart to use just a portion of them for my projects. I belong to a book club, so these will come in handy when it's gift giving time. They were colored with Copic markers and the top edge is done with a border punch. I hope you noticed the stickles too. Let me know what you think down in the comment section. Of course, you can get the paper, stamps, ribbon and stickles from Croppinsville.

Bookmarks and Card

It's called chick-a-doo!! Yep, that's the name of this patterned paper by sei. And I believe the color or style is goo-goo 8-2002. Isn't it just the cutest!! This paper has aquamarine colored birds on it and the other color-way in the store has pink. The polka-dot paper is by BoBunny and it's the aquamarine dot. I have SO MANY ideas floating around in my head for this particular paper, the next thing I am making is my own idea book. That way I won't forget all those "idea-thingies" bouncing around in my head.

I made a doodle book about 3 weeks ago and now when I watch TV with my hubby, I can doodle the whole time! I know it sounds silly, but practicing doodling and alphabets, really improves your skill...and it's a lot of fun! The other book I made with my bind-it-all was a book showing all the copic marker colors I have and that way I can keep it in my handbag for a handy reference when I am out shopping around for new colors or coordinating colors.

The tree stamp is by Stampology and it's the "fall tree".

I am so glad spring is here and color is getting back into our outdoor lives!! Whoo hooo!!! Happy creating!!
