12 Card Kit Preview

I was asked to create a card kit using a 12 pack of epoxy stickers from Cloud9 Design. They are sentiment stickers so they each have a greeting for the front of the card. The 4 designer papers are from Paper Loft: Tea Stained, Parfait, Pinstriped and Crazy for Flowers. I LOVE these papers. They would also lend themselves to being used with a lot of distress inks also. Check them out! You can see them online at Croppinsville.

The cardstock below is Prism in 6 different colors: Spring Willow Medium (Olive Green), Bold Jute (Kraft), Antique Gold (Yellow), Crabapple Dark (Red), Stormy Dark (Dark Blue), Herbal Garden Light (Light Green)

This first set of three cards is done with very basic embellishments. I used ink around the edge of the card either in black or with a white gel pen. I also used them around the mat that is the backing for the sentiment.

This second set of 3 cards utilizes a tall dried grassy looking stamp from the set called "Nature" from Little Yellow Bicycle. It is stamped on the dark blue in a vanilla ink, on the red in Versamark Ink and on the yellow with Tim Holtz Distress ink. I was trying to remember that these cards may be sent to males as well as females so I tried to make them a little more "generic".
OOPS!! I just realized I forgot to use the gel pen around the image and the sentimet on the red card! I'd better get right on that before I forget!

The third set utilizes 3 stamps from the same set. The previous stamp is used on the background mat offset to the side. Also if you notice the designer paper on the last two sets is a combination of 2 papers.

The fourth set of 3 use the same ink pens, one of the previous stamps and flowers from a bulk bin and large and small brads from a bulk bin too.

The goal of this kit is to be able to show someone that they can make a nice card just using the basics of the first set of three. And if they want to embellish more, they can do something similar to what I have shown here.
Each kit will contain the epoxy stickers, pre-cut cardstock, paper, stamp set and envelopes. Then you can embellish as you like. There will be a list of things I used to finish off cards, but you can do what ever you like!
One recommendation: When you first get these stamps, you will need to use an emery board with a light sanding side to first "rough up" the stamping side of the stamp. When you first use these stamps without sanding, the dye ink will "pool up" on the stamp and give you un-even images. That's why I recommend sanding them lightly until they work for you. Sometimes you have to lightly sand them and clean them a couple of times before the ink sticks to the stamp.
The kits and supplies are all from Croppinsville.
Email me if you have any questions about this segment. Thanks for checking in!

March Sketch #3

This sketch card for my swap group was made using SU cardstock and designer paper (that has been discontinued) and SU stamps. The ribbon I believe is from Martha Stewart and Dew Drops by Robins Nest. The ink is Chalk Ink; color: Ice Blue.

The yellow color cardstock is really vanilla confetti cream by SU also. It just looks really yellow next to the white because of contrast of colors. I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder to get the wonderful texture on the confetti cream cardstock and then I topped it off with some Ice Blue chalk ink!
Hope you like it!

12 x 12 Scrapbook Page with Moving Door Journal Box ~~ Simply Made

This was a card idea in the Stampin Success Magazine. I decided to use it on a scrapbook page to see how it would turn out!

The items I used are:
Jumbo Flowers Paper by Sandy Lion (RMKSCB82)
Nautical Blue Medium Prism Cardstock 12x12
Iced Yellow Prism Cardstock 12x12
½ sheet of scrap vanilla colored cardstock
Blue brad or yellow brad
2 pictures to be cropped down to: 3”w X 3 ½” t; and 5” w X 3 ½” t
White poster paint pen
Blue marker

Here you can see how the "door" moves to the right to see what you have journaled about this special day!

I created a direction sheet to make this page and card that's why you see the "step" information printed on the pictures.

If you would like the directions and the rest of the pictures for this layout and the card, please email me and I'd be happy to send them to you.

You can see that there is still some remaining cardstock and paper. You could make a couple of gift tags or some other items. Use your imagination to use up every bit of paper and not much will go to waste! I guess that's a way to be "green"...

Week 8 Swap-WhipperSnapper Stamps

This is the final week of our 8-week swap. We've had a lot of fun and I've received beautiful cards. I'm sorry that it's my last 8-week swap until August, but wedding planning is taking up a lot of time! Funny how that happens :O)

The frame aound my card was made with Spellbinder Nestabilities and inked with purple pigment ink then sprinkled with clear embossing powder to give it that shiney effect. The stamped imaged by WhipperSnapper is stamped with Memento ink and then colored with COPIC markers. Like I said before, they are my FAVORITES!!! I made the pink flowers on the Tim Holtz Fragments tag using my COPICS also. I'm not too happy with the colors of the picture and I think it looks better in person. The markers I used were: G02, G05, BV13, RV14, Y11, Boo and I used the Spica Melon pen on the tendrills of the plant. It may be hard to see that wonderful glitter.

This poodle is just the cutest!! Joy spent a lot of time placing those pearls around the scalloped Nestabilities oval. Those fun handbags at the bottom are such a wonderful compliment to the card. She did a great job and I love that stamp! Thanks Joy for all the beautiful cards for this swap!

Sketch Card #2 Swap

This sketch was a lot of fun! You really had to search for some complimentary papers to complete it. Some papers are from Stampin Up and the center image is from Graphic 45. You can get a sheet of these different tags from Croppinsville. They have the best selection of Graphic 45 paper and anything you order is 25% off! Graphic 45 is one of my favorites!!

3 Person ATC Swap

These 3 ATC's were made by 3 different people. One person starts it by putting on an image, sends all three to the second person who adds something else and then sends it on to the third person. The third person finishes it and then sends one back to person #1 and one to person #2. This was my first time doing an ATC swap like this. I don't know why, but it was really difficult for me to find my portion to add. I had these for nearly a month before adding the final touches. I really need to work on more of these to get the hang of it all!

February ATC Quote Swap

Happy March!! Wow did I really write that??!! Boy does time fly when you're having fun! I can't believe it's March already. Wasn't it just Christmas the other day??

Anyway, this picture is for a swap that I wanted to try. I've never made ATC's before so I am definitely learning...slowly. Every month we use a quote that we like for our ATC.

The stamped face is from Paula Best and colored with COPIC markers. I printed the quote on the computer and then cut it out with a punch from Stampin Up; then added some *sparkle*.

Let me know what you think! Thanks for checkin' in on my creativity!

Again, "HAPPY MARCH!!"
