Cute Little Rabbit in a Basket

Don't you just love rabbits!!?? They are another sure sign of spring and Easter! This cute little guy is from Stampin Up. It is one of my last two swap cards for this go-around. I used quite a few COPIC markers for this card: E11, E15, E17, E25, E31, E33, E35, E47, E71, G000, G05, G09, R32, R35, Y000, RV32, 0 colorless blender. I also used one of my new Nestabilities for the mat.

My last swap card is actually the Wendy Vecchi tulip card below.

I hope that you've enjoyed my swap as much as I have. I'm involved in two cricut classes right now so I won't being doing another swap for a while.

Sunshine On the Hills...

I guess if I named this piece of art it would be "sunshine on the hills".
Swap Topic: Button Card
I had to make this quickly since it's due in California by Friday and it will take at least 4 days to get there from here! I used nesties circles and one oval. I think next time I would just use my scissors so the hills didn't look so pre-formed. Oh well, it still came out sorta cute don't you think?
Have a great week!

Black and White and New Nestabilities

Swap Topic: Black and White

I have a black and white swap coming up with one of my groups and I really wanted to use some of my new nestabilities for my swap. I also needed an anniversary card, so I decided to make two cards with different sentiments.

Copic Colored Rooster

Swap Topic: Animal

I think my swap partner will like the farm animal I sent to her this week. I used 13 copic markers to color this guy. I started off with light colors so it wouldn't be so dark from the beginning since you can't easily add highlights back in. I practiced on three examples and I printed a photo off the internet to help with the color choices.
Don't you love the french script mat layer behind it??!!

Inchie Faces

Swap Topic: People
People and faces are sometimes hard to color with copic markers. I think the skin colors turned out well on this card.
I used photoshop to try and show this card at its best, but you are seeing a bad interpretation of the colors in the background paper. The photo also fails to show the glossy accents and glitter pens that I used. I should have done some macro shots of those things with extra lighting...it was late and I was tired...next time......:O)

Copic and Prismacolor Flowers in Vases

Swap topic: Basket or Vase of Flowers

This was an oversized stamp so I cut it down with a Nestabilities Label die. Most of the flowers were colored with Copic markers, but I also used something new. I purchased some Prismacolor Premier pens with brush tips. They came in a multi-color pack. These brush tips have a very fine point and they can get into the smallest places.

I airbrushed some pale porcelain blue around the edge before I took it out of the die. Then I colored the rest of the image. The yellow background near the vases and flowers was added after the flowers were colored.

January Sketch Card

I am trying to get back into the swing, or should I say "stamp" of things. This is the first monthly sketch card. Although there is only one stamped image on this card and that is the sentiment! Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with them and the other swaps I am involved in.

The first picture is of the card in the closed position and the second one is open so you can see the sentiment. I think I was able to capture the glimmer mist on the flowers and the sentiment frame.

And I felt I needed to put a cute little bird on the envelope too.

What have you been working on lately?

Halloween Cards Using Masking and Other Techniques...

Well I knew I wanted to use these images, but I wasn't sure just how to make it all come together. I must have experimented with this for at least two WHOLE days before it finally hit me!

This yellow post it covers the moon area so I could spray the rest of the background with a blue color.

I stamped the images on white cardstock with black ink and versamark and used clear embossing powder. I let it cool down, then I colored the image with COPIC markers. After that was dry I colored over each colored area with a versamark pen and used embossing powder again. I did this so when I sprayed the background, the background color would not stick to my already colored goblins.

Each colored area had to be masked to protect it anyway, just in case there was a little bit of embossing powder missing.

This "cat in the moon" has a circle mask cut out around it so I could add the gold glow to the moon area.

This is how the final card turned out. The cat is sitting in the glow of the moon with a nice blue background. The punched out bat is flying around and the cute bird with a pumpkin basket is sitting in the tree created by the Cricut Expression. The tree and the punched fence were also colored using the airbrush system.

Button Card Swap

There is sort of a reflection of fall colors in this card. These stamps are from Stampin Up. One is retired, and I can't remember if the other one is also. I used the Nestabilities dies with my Big Shot machine to cut this matting. Hope you enjoy it.

Fall Card Swap

I hope this shows up on-line as well as it looks in person. This turned out to be a very pretty card. It was stamped with versamark and dusted with gold embossing powder. Then it was colored with COPIC markers and outlined in black. I used black ink and gold ink to add lines around the vanilla mat. The butterfly was something I found to add to the front. I think it turned out pretty good.

Happy fall to you all!

Coffee or Tea Card Swap

This first card is the one I sent for the swap. It's a larger format than A2 and has a lot more "bling" on it. I didn't have a coffee or tea stamp, so I had to go on the search really quick for something that would work. This set has about 10 stamps to it. It's very cute! I used a couple of "Nesties" to cut out the top stamped piece and the mat behind. Also used a Spellbinders die for the sentiment tag.
These two are just different color variations with some other differences. I used the COPIC airbrush system to do the background. I had to mask the coffee cups before doing the background.

Hope you had a great week!

Cat Card Swap

This is a Magenta stamp. It is so adorable and I thought the perfect comment from this kitten would be: Oops! Did I do that?
I used a couple of Nestabilities on this card, some stickles, gold floss, black chunky glitter and COPIC markers.

Anything that Flies Card Swap

I absolutely love this set from Stampin Up. It is the cutest! The sky was created with blue designer paper and the grassy hill was created with green designer paper. I inked the edges with distress ink and used pop dots on the images. I also made faux stitching by using a white gel pen. I colored the bee and the flower with my COPIC markers. I really like how this turned out. Hope you enjoy it too.

Anything But a Card Swap...Note Pad

These are the pieces for the swap. They are images from Wendy Vecchi. This picture is the backside after I finished up with the front. The copper floss holds it together!

This is what the back looked like before the front was done.

This is the finished note pad.

This is a close up of the Tim Holtz ball hitch that I used for the closing on the front.
After I finished this note pad, I wished that I had made 3 or 4 more to give away as gifts.
Thank you for checking in with me again!

Swap A Card with Bling...

My card has a little bling on it. In the last swap, I made a card with a lot more bling! Sometimes you need to be a little understated. Sometimes we need to show people that we've got a little softer, and pretty side...(smile). I just wanted the bling in smaller areas. Hopefully my swap partner Debi will like it when she gets it. Also, the red background edges are NOT part of the card. I just happened to take the picture on top of this extra sheet of cardstock that was lying there. The butterflies are by Inkadinkado and the sentiment is by Stampin Up.

COPIC AIR-BRUSHING & CARD SWAP #6

This card is from a Basic Grey punch out card stock. The hole and the tab were already on the card. I added some charcoal chalk ink around the edges on the front and inside. The big thing is that the interior white cardstock was airbrushed with my COPIC markers and I created a frame around it by using a corner of cardstock and spraying over it. There are three different blue greens on this background: BG10, BG13, BG32.

On the tab I took a piece of cardstock that was punched and placed some repositionable adhesive on the backside and stuck it down to a white piece of Cougar White cardstock. I sprayed the BG32 over the top of this punch. When I took it off, it left a white crisp image underneath. I LOVE what you can do with the COPIC AIRBRUSH SYSTEM! I think purchasing a compressor will add a lot of value to my card making skills…Don’t you think so too!!??

Card Swap Week #5-Buttons

These buttons are wooden leaves and were colored with Stampin Up's groovy guava classic ink, then the veins were defined with a brown thin-line marker. The stamp set is also from Stampin Up. As the card progressed it turned out to be a mono-chromatic card. I placed it in a dark brown envelope and addressed it with a sharpie white poster paint pen. I love this pen! Thanks for checking in!

Jan's Gemstone Card To Me

This is the card Jan made for our gemstone swap. Don't you just love her little owl??!! It is so cute. In case the picture didn't get the sparkle, the stones are on the band paper behind the tree! Lovely card! Thanks Jan!

Fall Card Swap Week 2

This second week we were to create a card using some kind of a charm. I decided to use a charm that I've had for some time. I also decided to make a set of cards to use up some of those charms and I needed some extra note cards for myself.

Since I was using quotes related to simplicity, I decided to make the cards as simple as possible also. The background of the card was handstamped and I didn't use lots of layers of matting. I think they look simple, but nice. What do you think? I hope Jan likes this one too.

The stamps and the cardstock are from Stampin Up, but the designer paper and the charm is not from Stampin Up.

This last picture uses the same patterned paper and more Stampin Up cardstock. This card would have to be sent with extra postage because the height is probably too tall. On this one I would also add some padding to protect the embellishment on the front so it wouldn't get damaged.
