Week 7 Swap - Bird Card

Joy's bird card was created using a chevron punch. I didn't realize exactly how it was put together until she explained it to me. It's sort of like piecing a quilt together! It's a great idea!

The bird on my card is grunge board covered with Adirondak Lettuce paint dauber and covered with green glitter and then some blue glitter. I used Graphic 45 paper and the other cardstock is SU black and more mustard, then I took a palette knife and smeared Adirondak Dimensional Pearls (lettuce color) over the cardstock. It's very pretty and looks a lot like venetian plaster. I will definitely be experimenting with more of the dimensional pearls!

Someone Special...

Don't you love lady bugs??!! They are so cute! This is really a basic card. The hearts are a cute cut out from Cricut and the lady bugs are from Stampin Up. It's an invasion of lady bugs to wish someone special a very happy birthday!

That someone special is my niece, Mikayla, who turns 7 years old! Happy B-day sweetie pie!

Week 5 Swap - Gems or Brads or Something Shiney!

Joy's card is highlighted with beautiful gold brads or dots and also with Ranger Dimensional Pearls. I love dimensional pearls. You can dot them for texture or spread them out on your cardstock with a palette knife and get a pearly finish on top of your cardstock.
My card was made with Inque Botique stamps. These stamps are unmounted and it's really difficult to get a good image without some foam backing. They will all have to be mounted to some static cling mounting foam!

Week 6 Swap - Valentine Card

Don't you just love these birds!! One of them has and idea to be "love birds"...isn't that cute! What a darling idea! The colors of this card make me feel happy! It was definitely a good color combo! Thanks Joy for sending it!

My card has Luxe-Color Me Loved paper that was colored with various COPIC markers. The heart with bird was colored with RV02, RV11, B21, B34, Y02; shaded with C1, C3, C7. The heart brads are from JoAnn. I also used Stickles along the sides of the cardstock and on top of the colored Luxe paper. The "happy valentines day" balloon was made on the Cricut machine.

This was fun to create!

Baby Shower Invitations

I made 30 baby shower invitations for someone that works with my husband. These were a lot of fun; time consuming, but fun!

I first started off selecting a die at Croppinsville. I selected the "onesie" die by AccuCut. Then I selected the blue prism cardstock. After that I wasn't sure what I would do next so I went shopping!! Everyone that knows me, knows I love to shop! I needed ideas and went to Allie at Croppinsville for some additional ideas on how to make this shower invitation cute!

I decided to use my Justrite Harmony Rectangular Stamper with the 50 pt. Times New Roman Font with Ballet Blue ink from Stampin Up. You can order the Justrite stamper from Croppinsville and the Ballet Blue ink from me! Remember online ordering at Croppinsville, you get 25% off!

I found some cute white bows at Hobby Lobby and the felt animal stickers are from Martha Stewart (Michaels). The cute silver snaps are silver buttons from JoAnn.

I chalked the edges with Alabaster and Blue Iris from Colorbox fluid chalk. The black outlining was done with Alvin Black Penstix 0.3 and the white stitch outlining was done with a Sharpie Poster Paint Pen. The dots around Jessen's name were done with waterfall stickles.

The stamped image on the envelope was colored with COPIC markers: E33, RV02, Y15, B21.
Thanks for checking in!

Baby and Easter Card Kit

This kit from Croppinsville is a set of 6 cards. It is a really great kit for those who want some handmade cards, but don't have the time to cut all the paper or even color the images! It's all done for you! All you have to do is glue everything down! There are two new baby (girl) cards, two new baby (boy) cards, and two Easter cards.

The card base is made with Prism cardstock. yellow for the Easter cards, pink for the baby girl cards and blue for the baby boy cards.

Each card has one paper as its common theme. It is Bunny Trail paper. There is a yellow polka-dot paper and on these cards the green buttons are used from the Secret Garden package of buttons.

The girl cards also utilize the Tutu Dot accent paper and the pink buttons from the Secret Garden pack of buttons. Online these buttons look hand drawn, so if you want to see them upclose, just click on my picture and you can see what they look like.

The baby boy cards use Always on My Mind accent paper and blue buttons from the Secret Garden pack of buttons also.

The rhinestones are also from Croppinsville. Everything is included including the colored images and the floss for the buttons. You will have to supply glue and glue dots. The beautiful ribbon for each card is also from Croppinsville.

This is a card kit that is available at Croppinsville. Even though each of these pictures shows "2" Easter cards there are only a total 2 Easter cards per set. Week 4 Swap - Buttons and/or Bows

After going through another ice storm this year I think that I am really ready for spring. The trees around the lake all look dead and the water looks a greenish brown color. I know, soon the sky will be blue and everything will be green again!

This flower pot image with the bird and butterfly is by Stampin Up and the sentiment was created with the JustRite Rectangular stamp using the Curlz font set.

The background on the certainly celery cardstock was stamped with versamark and the Bella Toile background from SU. Afterward I used Jacquard Spring Green iridescent powder to create a green shimmery color. Of course, I used my oval nestabilities!

The image was colored with my COPIC markers: Leaves and vines: G09, YG03. Flowers: Y04, Y11. Flower Centers: R27. Butterfly: BV00, V17. Lady bug: 0 and R29. Bird: E31, E33, W1 and 0. Shading: W1, W3.

This button/bow card from Joy is so pretty. She used pigment ink and embossed it with white powder. What I thing I so great is the texture of the cardstock that shows through the embossing. I love how she used different color and different sizes of buttons.

Sketch #1 Card Swap

The "Sketch Card" is a new swap that we will be doing in our group. I have never tried the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch, so this is a way for me to try new layouts. If you've never tried this, it's a good way to find and experiment with them. I find some of them work better on larger cards. It really depends on how much detail is in the layout.

I used some alphabet brads from JoAnn that I had sitting in my storage containers. I like how they look on this card and I am trying to use the things I've had for a while.

Speaking of storage, I have completely re-done my embellishments. I now have one photo storage box for each color. I don't have to dig through numerous boxes looking for embellishments, only the ones that coordinate with my card or scrapbook page or altered item. It saves me a lot of time!

I hope you like it!
